For more than 80 years, the Chamber has helped educate the region about the importance and benefits of global trade through World Trade Week, held each May. Beginning with the annual World Trade Week Kickoff Breakfast, more than 40 events are held throughout the month of May in Southern California to promote and advance global trade.

A strategic effort that is housed at the Chamber, the Council will put more businesses on a path to benefit from international trade by encouraging and assisting them as they look to begin or increase trade activity. Los Angeles is the first of four pilot metro areas to partner with the Brookings Institution Metropolitan Policy Program to develop localized, ground-up plans that will help to elevate exports as a top local economic development priority, while also informing federal policy. The Chamber also issues letters of invitation for delegations wishing to visit the United States, as well as brief Chamber visits (fees are based on delegation size; this service is reserved for Chamber members only).
