Transportation in the L.A. Region, A Federal and State Wrap Up
**Please note special date
10:00 - 11:30 a.m.
Please join the Council as we wrap up 2015 and look ahead to the new year. California State Assemblymember Jimmy Gomez, chair of the Assembly Committee on Transportation, will join the council to discuss the findings and the status of the Special Session on Transportation Infrastructure that the Governor called this past summer. On the federal level, Metro will provide an update on the status of the six-year transportation reauthorization legislation that is currently in conference committee. We will also discuss the status of the possible November 2016 ballot measure, Metro's next steps and how the business community can weigh in.
The Council will also hear from the Reason Foundation, who recently released their L.A. Congestion Study and Mobility Plan. The study, Reducing Congestion in Los Angeles: A New Approach to Increasing Mobility, discusses transportation and policy ideas for the Southern California Association of Governments region.
