Rep. Hahn and Reducing Port Congestion

Tuesday, Nov. 4
10 - 11:30 a.m.

The last reauthorization of the federal transportation bill called for the creation of a National Freight Network (NFN) to assist states in strategically directing resources toward improved movement of freight on highways. In July of 2014, Rep. Janice Hahn introduced the National Freight Network Trust Fund Act of 2014 which would provide funding for a NFN Grant Program. Join us to hear Rep. Hahn speak about the legislation and how it could help improve the competitiveness of L.A.'s two ports.

Members will also hear from Port of L.A.'s Commissioner David Arian regarding the increased congestion L.A.'s ports have been experiencing recently and some of the short and long-term solutions the Port of L.A. is considering implementing to improve its operations.
