The Land Use, Construction & Housing Council advocates for policies and programs that create sustainable, economically robust communities through smart growth planning, public-private partnerships and investment in congestion relief solutions. This also includes a special focus on building more workforce housing, reforming the city’s planning and permitting process, strengthening our public transportation system and addressing L.A. County’s homelessness crisis.
Increasing Affordable Housing in Los Angeles
Thursday, May 28
**Please note, special date
10 - 11:30 a.m.
Please join us for an update on efforts to grow affordable housing in our region with Councilman Gil Cedillo, chair of the Los Angeles City Council's Housing Committee. In the past year, several ideas have been proposed, including finding a sustainable funding source for the Affordable Housing Trust Fund, fees and/or incentives for developers, tax-credits and allowances for dedicated low-income housing units, and a new value capture policy for the city. Correspondingly, Councilman Cedillo will review his 2015 priorities to increase L.A.'s affordable housing stock.
We also plan to take a position on City Planning's Quimby Fee reform proposal and share updates on the Clean Up Green Up Ordinance and our May 19-20 Access Sacramento advocacy trip.
