The Land Use, Construction & Housing Council advocates for policies and programs that create sustainable, economically robust communities through smart growth planning, public-private partnerships and investment in congestion relief solutions. This also includes a special focus on building more workforce housing, reforming the city’s planning and permitting process, strengthening our public transportation system and addressing L.A. County’s homelessness crisis.
Linking land use and transportation
Wednesday, April 23
10 - 11:30 a.m.
Increasingly, governments are developing policies that link land use and transportation. Whether it's a new development fee to mitigate local traffic impacts, restructuring fares to expand our regional transit system or setting new guidelines and standards for streets and roads, policy makers continue to look for new ways to plan for and fund L.A.'s future growth.
Join us to hear Metro staff and CEO Art Leahy discuss their proposed Congestion Mitigation Program and fare changes. Members will also hear from L.A. City senior planner, Claire Bowin, who will present the City's Draft Mobility Plan 2035. All three proposals will be considered by their respected boards in the next few months.
