Sacramento's 2015 Health Care Priorities & the Sec. 1115 Waiver Renewal
Friday, Jan. 23 **Please note special date and time**
1 - 2:30 p.m.
Expanding health insurance to undocumented immigrants, robust enrollment numbers for Covered California and legislation granting full practice authority to Nurse Practitioners. These are just a few of the dominant health care discussions in Sacramento as we start 2015. Join us as Dr. Ed Hernandez, Chair of the Senate Committee on Health, once again shares his insights for our first meeting of the year. Dr. Hernandez will discuss his perspective on California's role in ensuring national health care reform success and his legislative priorities for 2015.
Additionally, we will hear from the California Department of Health Care Services who will give us an update on the state's section 1115 Waiver Renewal. Set to expire next October, the current 5-year demonstration waiver provides initiatives to invest in the state's health care delivery system to tackle the significant changes spurred on by the Affordable Care Act.
We also welcome your input as the Council votes to approve its 2015 advocacy priorities.
