The State of Health Care in Los Angeles County

With over 10.4 million residents, 140 cultures and as many as 224 languages, the County of Los Angeles faces many challenges in addressing the health care needs of our diverse communities. Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas remains a leader in this discussion and will provide members with an update on the current work being done to meet the health care needs of County residents, including his ideas for streamlining County health records, the proposed Unified Health Agency, the new focus of medical care at Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital and several newly opened medical centers and research facilities across our region.
