L.A.'s Energy & Environmental Future

Friday, April 18
10 - 11:30 a.m.

Matt Petersen was appointed as the City of L.A.'s first ever Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) by Mayor Eric Garcetti in August 2013. As CSO, Petersen is responsible for developing environmental initiatives across all city departments and will play a key role in implementing the Mayor's environmental policy agenda. Join us to hear Petersen discuss his vision for the City of L.A.'s environmental future.

Members will also hear from Mark Nelson of Southern California Edison (SCE). SCE announced in June 2013 that it will permanently retire its San Onofre nuclear plant. Nelson will discuss SCE's decommissioning process and their plan to meet the region's long-term energy needs.
We will also hear updates from the Chamber's ACCESS Washington, D.C. trip and discuss potential priorities for the upcoming ACCESS Sacramento trip.
