The Education & Workforce Development Policy Council convenes local business leaders interested in partnering with educators in an effort to improve public education, expand access to higher education and develop a 21st century workforce capable of competing in a global economy. As a result of the current economic climate, the Council is focused on boosting job recovery for today's workforce while preparing future generations of workers.

California's education system has experienced significant changes that will impact our early learning, K-12 and higher education institutions. Hear from experts about California's education and the political landscape in preparation for ACCESS Sacramento, May 12-13. Speakers include State Sen. President pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, Dr. William Yu, economist for the UCLA Anderson Forecast and Tony Rice, managing Partner Rice/Englander & Associates.
Sen. Steinberg & Sen. Holly Mitchell will discuss their legislative priorities and provide an overview of SB 837(Steinberg). Yu will present a unique Los Angeles perspective on the impact of early education on the Los Angeles economy. Rice will provide an inside perspective on California's political landscape.
