 CHAMBER VOLUNTEERS HONORED BY BOARD OF DIRECTORS Today at noon, the Chamber Board recognized members for exceptional service and leadership during 2011. LaDonna DiCamillo, BNSF Railway Company, was recognized as Board Member of the Year.  Chamber-supported Expo Line to open as early as April Metro has entered into the last phase of testing, known as pre-revenue service, for the 7.9 mile first phase of the Expo Line. This testing stimulates actual service without passengers and includes the training of more than 100 operators and supervisors of the full segment from the 7th St. Metro stop downtown to La Cienega/Jefferson stop at the eastern edge of Culver City. Phase 2 of this project, from Culver City to Santa Monica, is part of the Chamber-supported America Fast Forward initiative. Boxer during ACCESS Washington, D.C. The Chamber has confirmed a briefing with Sen. Barbara Boxer as part of the 2012 Los Angeles on the Hill: ACCESS Washington, D.C. advocacy trip, March 5-7. Sen. Boxer is chair of the powerful Environment & Public Works Committee, which approved a draft transportation reauthorization bill in November that included language on America Fast Forward. City Council District 15, don't forget to vote on Tuesday, Jan. 17. The L.A. Jobs PAC, sponsored by the Chamber and governed by an independent board of directors, is endorsing Joe Buscaino. L.A. Jobs PAC aims to elect candidates who will place a top priority on job creation, business investment and fiscal solvency. The L.A. Jobs PAC cited creating jobs and bolstering public safety as the best strategies to improve the City's economic climate, and acknowledged that Buscaino has the skills and drive to accomplish these goals.
