CHAMBER APPLAUDS SENATE ON PASSAGE OF JOB-CREATING TRANSPORTATION BILL On Wednesday, the Senate passed a $109 billion bipartisan transportation bill that would save or create 2.8 million jobs. The legislation, co-sponsored by Senators Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and Jim Inhofe (R-OK), comes just 17 days before the expiration of the current transportation bill on March 31. "We now encourage the House to take up the Senate bill and pass legislation for a conference committee. There is no higher priority in America today," said L.A. Area Chamber President & CEO Gary Toebben. Transportation reauthorization and the inclusion of America Fast Forward was the top priority of the Chamber's recent ACCESS Washington, D.C. trip. Take action today and voice your support. Contact Jessica Duboff, 213.580.7558.
