CHAMBER APPLAUDS CONGRESS ON HISTORIC TRANSPORTATION LEGISLATION On Wednesday, the Senate and House struck a bipartisan deal to combine transportation reauthorization, student loan and flood insurance legislation into a package expected to pass by the end of the week. "The idea of America Fast Forward started right here in Los Angeles, and yesterday’s deal signals a huge win for L.A. County, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, and our private and public coalition partners," said Chamber President & CEO Gary Toebben. The Chamber organized a coalition of chambers of commerce across the nation to support the bill. The two-and-a-half year transportation reauthorization and the inclusion of America Fast Forward was the top priority of the Chamber's ACCESS Washington, D.C. trip earlier this year.
