Chamber meets with legislators and Korean National Assembly
Chamber members discussed business opportunities and challenges in working with South Korea on July 28 with several congressional leaders including U.S. Rep. Diane Watson and the Korean National Assembly at L.A. City Hall. Representatives from AC Martin Partners, which is building two universities in South Korea, and Unicorp, which exports beef from the United States to South Korea, shared their experience in doing business with the country and the importance of passing the Free Trade Agreement.
Chamber committee discusses trade with city official
City of L.A. Director of International Trade Dario Gomez gave an update on the strides the city is making to maintain its status as an international hub at the Chamber's July International Trade & Investment Committee meeting. Gomez provided a recap of the successes from Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's recent trip to Israel and identified the mayor's top priorities in promoting trade and investment for the city.
Chamber briefed on trade by official from Mexico
Consul General of Mexico in Los Angeles Juan Marcos Gutierrez Gonzalez spoke with Chamber Board members about trade and current relations with Mexico in July. Gutierrez stressed the importance of business leaders maintaining a dialogue for increased growth and opportunities, highlighting that $1 billion in trade is exchanged daily between the United States and Mexico.
