Business Email Compromise: The $3.1 Billion Scam

Since 2015, Business Email Compromise (BEC) scams, defined as sophisticated crimes targeting businesses working with foreign suppliers and/or businesses that regularly perform wire transfer payments, has increased by 1,300 percent, according to the FBI. Scams have been reported by victims in all 50 states and in 100 countries.
Special Agent Michael Sohn of the FBI's Los Angeles Field Division, responsible for investigating computer and high-tech crimes involving national security measures, will give business owners an overview of the current cyber threat-scape, popular criminal techniques and how you can prevent your business from falling victim to BEC.
