10 - 11:30 a.m.
L.A. Area Chamber
350 S. Bixel St.
Los Angeles, CA 90017
Join us for a special council meeting unveiling a report on the biggest skills gaps in the L.A. region. Nearly half of California jobs are in "middle skills" occupations, requiring more than a high school diploma but less than a bachelor's degree, which highlights the importance of Linked Learning. Additionally, State Sen. Carol Liu and Michele Siqueiros, executive director, The Campaign for College Opportunity, will share their insights on current legislative efforts to dramatically improve completion rates among California community college students and California's economic payoff for its investment in higher education.
