The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation was established in 1970 to carry out the charitable and education objectives of the L.A. Area Chamber. The voice of business in Los Angeles for more than 125 years, the Chamber has been a champion for economic prosperity and quality of life in Los Angeles. The Chamber’s Foundation focuses on furthering those efforts by building partnerships that improve the standards of education and general quality of life and welfare for the citizens of Southern California.
In the area of education, the Foundation works to ensure that youth have equal access to education and high level job training — resulting in a thriving local economy. The Foundation supports cradle-to-career education and workforce development programming within the Chamber and its affiliates, such as UNITE-LA, to coordinate and broker systemic education reform. The Foundation is particularly focused on the issues facing large, urban school districts such as the Los Angeles Unified School District.
